www.poetrysociety.org.uk First port of call for poetry in the UK - and founder of Poetry Places. Rich and diverse run by a small and friendly organisation, who have an excellent cafe at 22 Betterton St, Covent Garden, (nearest tube Russell Square) if you're ever in London. Brand new website opened this December - take a look.

www.applesandsnakes.org specialises in performance poetry across the UK, based in Battersea, London

www.poetrymagazines.org.uk run by the poetry library, currently semi-closed with south bank refurb. excellent way to access contemporary uk poetry.

www.poetrybooks.co.uk Poetry Book Society. Best way into UK poetry book publishing, worth becoming a member if you're going to buy the stuff.

www.poetrykit.org excellent hands on about the writing of poetry, and poets getting together site
